The 36 all out on Day 3 of the Adelaide Test is now registered in the annals of Indian cricketing history as a mortifying chapter. There have been collapses in the past, but none where the players seemed to be at their wits end. They were like a deer caught in the headlights – frozen, unable to get their act together; the more they wriggled, the deeper they fell into the abyss.
